The Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 has one of the best screens of any device I’ve seen here at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The display is vibrant and beautiful, and the company also fleshed out the innards and redesigned the airflow to keep the laptop performing at its best. Here are some early thoughts about the Huawei MateBook X Pro.

We can’t ignore the elephant in the room. Like its predecessors, the MateBook X Pro was clearly inspired by certain products designed by a particular fruit company in California. The sleek aluminum chassis, the paper-thin lid, even the Space Grey colorway selected by Huawei — none is especially unique in this space. But that doesn’t mean the machine isn’t attractive. The beautiful design might be borrowed, but it stands out in a way many laptops simply don’t. And it mostly holds its own against the svelte profiles of new devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Pro 360.

OnePlus announced yesterday that a future device would offer brand-new 150W charging technology in Q2 2022. However, stablemate Realme also announced that the upcoming GT Neo 3 device would offer 150W tech.

Now, Android Central has reported that this 150W OnePlus phone could be the OnePlus Nord 3. More specifically, the outlet cited an “insider” source at OnePlus who said that the Nord 3 is based on the aforementioned Realme GT Neo 3.

Honor Magic 4 Pro camera: Early impressions with the ‘Eye of Muse’ https://ift.tt/h3ojZ9W

The Honor Magic 4 Pro is quite the spec-heavy smartphone, and none more so than in the camera department. Sporting 50 megapixel primary and ultrawide image sensors, a 64MP periscope camera with a 3.5x optical zoom, laser autofocus, and a dedicated flicker sensor, there’s a pretty robust setup on offer here. Just bypass Honor’s frankly bizarre “Eye of Muse” nickname for the camera module, which I’m not even going to pretend to understand.

In late 2020, Huawei sold off its Honor subsidiary brand (for obvious reasons). It would be over half a year before Honor would release its first phone as an independent company, the Honor V40. Then it launched the Honor Magic 3 series, but not globally. However, at Mobile World Congress 2022, the company is finally launching its very first global premium flagship: the Honor Magic 4 Pro.

With this phone, Honor is coming out the gate guns blazing. A lot of brands might elect to slowly build up momentum in the premium flagship space to test the waters, but not Honor. The Magic 4 Pro is a beast of a device that exists as a statement of intent — and it’s a bold statement.

Cat phones, maker of heavy-duty rugged phones, threw down a new product category at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: a rugged mobile hotspot. More specifically, the Cat Q10 5G Mobile Internet Hotspot takes the idea of mobile coverage on the go into new, mud-covered terrain.

Neither mobile hotspots nor rugged devices are a new product category. The Cat Q10, however, may be one of the very first 5G mobile hotspots that also happens to be toughened up for an outdoor environment. The Q10 covers the rugged basics.

Samsung updated its line of Windows laptops at Mobile World Congress and the new series jumps into the market feet first with top specs and appealing designs.

Though the company announced four new models — including the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, the Book 2 360, and the Book 2 Business — only two were on hand in Barcelona. We were able to spend a little time with the two stylish Pro computers — which have the exact same design save for the rotating screen — and have some initial impressions on the latest from Samsung.
