Nubia has announced its dual-screen smartphone, the Nubia X. The handset recently popped up on the company’s official website, where it outlined everything the smartphone has to offer.
The big selling point of the Snapdragon 845-wielding smartphone is its secondary, touchscreen display. This 5.1-inch screen is built into the unit’s rear with 1520 x 720 resolution (19:9 aspect ratio). This compliments the main 6.26-inch FHD+ display on the front of the device, which has 2280 x 1080 resolution (19:9). It’s not entirely clear how the secondary display is activated or unlocked, but it seems to run the same interface as the regular Android system operated through the front display.
The Nubia X also comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB ROM depending on which model you pick up. The phone is unlikely to be officially sold in western markets.
Hours before the announcement, leaker Ice universe (@UniverseIce) posted a video showing off the handset. The near bezel-less smartphone can be seen in a metallic blue color with its dual-rear camera and USB Type-C connector. Its secondary screen is camouflaged in the same color as the phone’s back plate until activated.

The way the display appears and disappears is impressive — at a glance, it looks like it’s completely concealed in the device. We’re still learning what it will offer, though.
This story is breaking and will be updated again shortly…
