Poll: What do you do with your old phone when you buy a new one? https://ift.tt/2Oo9J1W

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Back Angle

It’s not uncommon for consumers to keep their smartphones for two to three years these days, as even older phones are still pretty reliable and do the job well enough. But it’s always fun upgrading to a new device, whether it’s via a contract upgrade or taking the prepaid route.

That does make us wonder what Android Authority readers do with their old phone when they’ve bought a new one. So let us know by voting in the poll below!

Please wait.. Loading poll

Personally, I’ve kept my old Samsung Galaxy S8 in the cupboard and brought it out of storage when I needed to check something Samsung-related for the website. Although a friend is actually loaning the device right now for VR purposes.

But there are plenty of ways to repurpose an old smartphone though. An old device can be used as a smart display, a gaming/streaming platform when hooked up to a large screen, a security camera, a media server, and more.

We don’t blame you if you’ve sold or traded in your old phone either, as trade-ins in particular can help soften the blow of a new smartphone purchase.

Update: March 1, 2021 (1:30 AM ET): A new report suggests the OnePlus Watch will launch alongside the OnePlus 9 series later this month. Read on for more details!

Original article: September 27, 2020 (4 AM ET): OnePlus has long aspired to create an ecosystem of devices that stretches beyond smartphones. The company’s efforts towards achieving this goal started with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless neckband earphones back in 2018. Since then, OnePlus has expanded its lineup with TWS earphones, wireless chargers, and even televisions. However, the fitness wearables space is one that the manufacturer has left untouched till now. This is about to change.

From Oppo to Realme, to Vivo — all of OnePlus’ sister companies under the BBK Electronics umbrella have announced or launched a fitness wearable. The Oppo and Vivo smartwatches are the latest in this onslaught, and by the looks of it, OnePlus isn’t trailing far behind. Enter the OnePlus Watch.

So far, little is known about OnePlus’ debut endeavor in the smartwatch category, but we’ll round up all the rumors in this article. We’ll also list out some expectations we have from the OnePlus Watch, given the crowded market it’s about to enter.

OnePlus Watch: Name and release date

OnePlus logo 2

It’s not surprising that OnePlus is making a smartwatch. Creating accessories to go alongside smartphones has been a practice in the tech industry since kingdom come. Samsung has done it, Apple has done it, Xiaomi’s in the thick of it, and nearly every major smartphone brand you can name is expanding its wearables portfolio.

OnePlus first dabbled with the idea of a smartwatch in 2016 but ultimately shelved the idea. In fact, the brand had a completed smartwatch back then but decided against bringing it to the market for whatever reason.

However, company CEO Pete Lau confirmed in an interview that the OnePlus Watch is back in the pipeline. Later, he confirmed on Twitter that the watch will land early in 2021:

Lau’s “early next year” statement makes us think the watch will land alongside the OnePlus 9 series. A new report by 91Mobiles lends some credence to this possibility. The publication believes the wearable will debut alongside the flagship phone line in mid-March.

As far as the name goes, everyone is referring to it as the OnePlus Watch. There’s been no confirmation from the company that that’s the name, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what ends up happening.

OnePlus Watch rumored design and specs

vivo watch leak digital chat station

There isn’t a single leak out there about the specs of the so-called OnePlus Watch. The only info so far comes from tipster Max J on Twitter, who posted a cryptic teaser about the smartwatch having a round dial instead of a square face.

OnePlus Watch Teaser Max J On Twitter

The tipster doesn’t even mention the name of the smartwatch. He only alludes to its possible circular design, which immediately distinguishes it from the Apple Watch-esque Oppo Watch. However, it does open up the possibility of the OnePlus Watch resembling the round Vivo Watch or the Realme Watch S Pro.

If that’s the case, OnePlus might not have to build a smartwatch chassis from scratch. It could just borrow Vivo or Realme’s design and slap its preferred hardware on it. Then again, OnePlus might adopt a completely fresh approach for its first timepiece.

A regulatory filing with India’s BIS (similar to the FCC here in the US) suggests there could be two variants of the watch. We don’t know what the differences would be between them, but it’s possible there could be two case sizes.

In early January, frequent leaker Ishan Agarwal revealed what could be OnePlus Watch renders, showing a round watchface. Agarwal dug into the OnePlus Health app to find these renders and a distinct model number (W301CN), but cautioned that this could be the Oppo Watch. Check out the renders below.

Apparent OnePlus Watch Ishan Agarwal 1 Apparent OnePlus Watch Ishan Agarwal

We also discovered designs for a OnePlus smartwatch at the EUIPO website, although it’s unclear if this is indeed the final design. Nevertheless, we’ve got two filings here, and they both show circular watchfaces with two buttons on the right hand side. Check out the images below.

The EUIPO images don’t seem to show many differences between the two watch filings, save for differing strap designs. We also see what’s presumably a heart-rate monitor underneath the watchface.

When it does launch, the OnePlus Watch may also include a Cyberpunk 2077-inspired special edition. Straps with Cyberpunk insignia and bright yellow inserts have leaked.

Will the watch run on Wear OS?

According to Pete Lau, OnePlus is working closely with Google to develop the software for the watch. Now, he didn’t specifically say that the OnePlus Watch will run on Wear OS, but the company working with Google leaves little to the imagination.

Interestingly, Lau freely admitted that Wear OS “definitely has room to improve.” He went on to discuss how his company is making suggestions to Google on what can be done to make the user experience better for the upcoming watch. According to Lau, this co-working effort “has been something looked at very positively from Google’s side.” Take that as you will.

OnePlus Watch: What we want to see

suunto 7 wear os logo on wrist

While we don’t have any clue about the specs and software of the OnePlus Watch, there are a few things we would like to see on it. Whether OnePlus has already thought of these or not is anyone’s guess, but here’s what a OnePlus Watch looks like in our minds.

Bright AMOLED always-on display

An OLED or AMOLED display is the gold standard for smartwatches right now. We would love to see the OnePlus Watch bring a bright and crisp always-on AMOLED screen like the one on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 or even the Oppo Watch. Sure, that means you won’t get battery life that lasts weeks, but no full-fledged smartwatch can promise you that these days. The Galaxy Watch 3 tops out at around three days with AOD turned off, while the Oppo Watch easily lasts 24 hours with the feature turned on.

Not many AMOLED-touting watches can last for a week or more, though some Fitbit and Garmin devices do. I would be happy if the OnePlus Watch could take phone calls, get notifications, run apps, track workouts, and basically do everything a smartwatch is expected to do. Of course, with an always-on AMOLED screen that doesn’t kill the watch by mid-day and makes it tick for at least 24 hours.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus

OnePlus and Qualcomm have had a great partnership when it comes to smartphones, and we expect to see the same for when the company launches smartwatches. Unlike the Oppo Watch that houses the two-year-old Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, we hope the OnePlus Watch upgrades to the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus.

The new 12nm chip promises the fastest clock speed (1.7GHz) on any Snapdragon Wear platform by Qualcomm to date. Compared to the 1.1GHz clock speed on the Wear 3100, this should feel like a significant boost. The new-generation chip also improves upon memory, GPU, and camera performance, and comes with a co-processor that promises great improvements to battery life. Pair this with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, and you’ll have quite the powerful watch on your wrist.

Wear OS with some tweaks

Let’s be honest, Google’s Wear OS platform hasn’t really managed to dominate the smartwatch ecosystem. It’s mostly relied on Qualcomm’s hardware, and that door was shut for the past two years. With the new Wear 4100 chipset, there’s renewed hope for the future of Wear OS watches. There’s also a new version of Wear OS that’s based on Android 11 and supports the latest Snapdragon Wear chips. It promises faster app starts, quicker access to info, a simplified pairing process, improved support for LTE, and more. For best-in-class smartwatch performance, we would have liked to see the OnePlus Watch pair the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus with the latest Wear OS software out-of-the-box.

Also read: The best Wear OS apps for Android

We also wouldn’t mind seeing some smart software tweaks such as a reimagined ZenMode for watches or custom battery modes like the Fossil Gen 5. It’s also entirely possible that the OnePlus Watch will be a basic fitness watch, sans any third-party apps, like what we’ve seen from Huami’s Amazfit.

Match rivals’ features

We don’t want OnePlus to hide behind an eye-watering number of fitness/sports modes like some watches out there while compromising on the accuracy of core sensors (read Amazfit Stratos 3). What we want to see is an accurate heart rate and GPS sensor, NFC for remote payments, wireless charging, OnePlus’ signature Warp Charging, as well as blood oxygen monitoring. Stuff like Google Assistant support will automatically come if the watch sports the Wear OS platform. All this will ensure the OnePlus Watch stands on equal footing with other recent smartwatches like the Apple Watch 6 or the Galaxy Watch 3.

A measured price

What we’ve described above may sound like the perfect Wear OS smartwatch, and you might say that all this can’t possibly come cheap. You would be right. We don’t expect the OnePlus Watch to be under $200 with all these features and the latest Qualcomm chipsets. If the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 price is any indicator, then the OnePlus Watch could cost around $300.

There’s also the Apple Watch SE that comes in at $279, and that’s the one OnePlus would probably have to beat. Both Apple and Samsung are ecosystem leaders for smartwatches, and OnePlus has its work cut out for it. Maybe a $250-$300 price point could make the OnePlus Watch the best Wear OS watch to buy. I guess we’ll have to wait and watch.

The Redmi Note 10 series macro camera might actually be great. Here’s how. https://ift.tt/3cTCAqT

Redmi Note 9 Pro focus on logo

  • The Redmi Note 10 series will be equipped with a 5MP telephoto macro camera.
  • This allows you to get more detailed, zoomed-in macro shots.

We’ve seen a trend in recent years for smartphone manufacturers to add measly, nigh-on useless 2MP cameras to the back of their phones. One of the most popular additions in this regard is the 2MP macro camera, allowing users to take close-up shots of various subjects and objects.

Now, Xiaomi global vice-president Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed on Twitter that the Redmi Note 10 series will have an upgraded macro camera system. More specifically, the series will be equipped with a 5MP telephoto macro camera, which it’s calling a “5MP Super-Macro” system. Check out the tweet below.

5mp telephoto macro camera manu jain twitter

We’re glad to see a 5MP macro lens here, joining the likes of Samsung in bringing a major resolution bump compared to 2MP macro cameras seen on typical budget phones. But that’s only part of the reason why we’re expecting good macro shots from the Redmi Note 10 family.

A telephoto macro camera lets you get a tighter macro shot without physically moving closer, much like a telephoto camera allows you to get closer shots without moving towards the subject. In fact, we first saw this type of camera on the Poco F2 Pro, and we were very impressed with results from this lens compared to traditional 2MP macro shooters. In the case of the Redmi Note 10 series, Jain is promising the ability to get 2x closer to the subject/object than with traditional macro cameras.

Related: The Poco F2 Pro shows how macro cameras should be done

There’s no word if every Redmi Note 10 series device will be equipped with a 5MP telephoto macro camera though. But we’re guessing that the Pro device will have this option at the very least. Either way, we’re glad to see some manufacturers treating the macro sensor as more than just a means to increase the camera count.

Oppo Find X3 Pro launch date (and some key specs) finally confirmed https://ift.tt/2PgamyZ

Oppo Find X3 Launch Date Info
  • Oppo confirmed that the Oppo Find X3 Pro will launch on March 11, 2021.
  • The company also confirmed one of the major features of the phone as well as its chipset.
  • You will be able to live stream the launch on YouTube.

The hype machine has been working hard over the past few weeks when it comes to the upcoming Find X3 series. We expect there to be three devices in the lineup, including a Find X3 Lite and a Find X3 Neo.

However, all eyes are on the big daddy in the group: the Oppo Find X3 Pro. Today, the company formally announced the launch date for the series in the invitation you see above. The launch will happen on March 11, 2021, at 11:30 AM GMT (or 6:30 AM ET that same day).

You’ll notice the tagline for this launch is “Awaken Colour.” That has to do with a cool feature of the Find X3 Pro. Also, Oppo confirmed another important spec related to the device.

Oppo Find X3 Pro: Confirmed specs and features

In the invite Android Authority received, Oppo confirmed two features coming to the Find X3 Pro. The first is Oppo’s “Full-path Colour Management,” a feature it first disclosed late last year. This will, theoretically, allow the display to be incredibly accurate when it comes to colors. Of course, we’ll need to test this for ourselves.

Oppo also confirmed what we long expected: the Oppo Find X3 Pro will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. Considering this is one of the most important phones for the company, the inclusion of that processor was pretty much a given. Still, it’s nice to know it’s confirmed.

To find out more about the phone, you’ll need to watch the launch, which will live stream on YouTube. If you want to know all the latest rumors related to the Find X3 series, check out our hub here.

The best Michael Kors smartwatches you can buy: Bradshaw 2, MKGO, and more https://ift.tt/37RNzA4

Michael Kors is an established and renowned luxury brand in the fashion world. In 2016, it joined the smartwatch race under the wings of the Fossil Group. Now, Michael Kors smartwatches are among the pick for those who value the aesthetics of their wearables.

Running Wear OS and built on Fossil’s smartwatch platforms, the brand’s wearables are proving more and more popular with our readers. In this article, we take a look at the best Michael Kors smartwatches you can buy.

Why buy a Michael Kors smartwatch?

Technology is an important factor for swathes of Wear OS smartwatch users, but design can’t be ignored either. As a fashion brand, Michael Kors smartwatches focus on the latter. Its wearables are available in a number of metal finishings, encrusted in stones, or bright statement colorways.

As for the technology they tout, the wearables share Fossil’s technology, with newer watches running the latest Gen 5 and Gen 5E hardware. This makes them flashier alternatives to the watchmaker’s more grounded offerings. If Skagen or Fossil smartwatches are too bland for your tastes, you’ll probably find something in the Michael Kors stable.

The best Michael Kors smartwatches

Michael Kors smartwatches are pretty similar in technology, but there are a few key differences when it comes to stylings.

  • The Michael Kors Lexington 2 is the best Michael Kors smartwatch for classic watch lovers. It’s effectively a Fossil Gen 5 in an analog Lexington’s shell.
  • The Michael Kors Bradshaw 2 is the best Michael Kors smartwatch for flashy watch lovers. Sharing specs with the Lexington 2, the Bradshaw 2 packs a flashier body and designs.
  • The Michael Kors Darci is the best smartwatch for smaller wrists. It’s based on the Fossil Gen 5E platform which offers support for smaller displays and dials.
  • The Michael Kors MKGO (Gen 5E) is the best smartwatch balancing style and practicality. It packs a silicone strap and aluminum body but doesn’t drop any of the embellishments.
  • The Michael Kors MKGO (Gen 4) is the best Michael Kors smartwatch on a budget. Its practical design is based on Gen 4 technology, so while it’s the most colorful option, you’ll have to settle for older hardware.

Michael Kors Lexington 2: The best classic Michael Kors smartwatch

Michael Kors Lexington 2 Wear OS smartwatch 2

The Lexington 2 made its debut in 2019. Despite its age, it remains one of the most popular smartwatches in the brand’s stable. As a hat-tip to the non-smart Lexington, the Lexington 2 features a textured bezel around its face with three buttons on its right-hand side. It’s a little stocky, too, with its 44mm face and 12mm thick body.

In terms of technology, it’s built on Fossil’s Gen 5 platform. This means it packs a built-in speaker and microphone for chatter with callers and smart assistants, heart rate monitoring, and NFC for mobile payments. The Lexington 2 also boasts 5ATM water resistance and custom battery modes for those on the go. It’s the perfect smartwatch for those seeking a smartwatch inspired by a classic timepiece.

Michael Kors Bradshaw 2: The statement smartwatch

michael kors bradshaw 2 render 1

The Michael Kors Bradshaw 2 shares many of its specs and features with the Lexington 2, which means it’s also based on Fossil’s solid Gen 5 platform. In terms of aesthetics though, the Bradshaw 2 is by far the flashier of the two watches.

It swaps the Lexington 2’s textured bezel for a completely smooth 44mm face or one bordered by stones. At 12mm thick, it’s a large statement smartwatch that also packs a built-in speaker, heart-rate tracking, custom battery modes, and NFC for Google Pay support. It’s a statement smartwatch through and through.

Michael Kors Darci: A smartwatch for small wrists

michael kors darci gen 5e smartwatch mkt5129

Don’t fret if the Bradshaw 2 or Lexington 2 are too large — there’s a daintier offering, too. The updated Michael Kors Darci is one of Michael Kors’s newer smartwatches. It’s based on Fossil’s Gen 5E platform and features a seven-link bracelet with a jewel-encrusted stainless steel case. It’s slightly smaller than its aforementioned siblings which makes it a better fit for smaller wrists.

Additionally, users get longer battery life for their cash and a gem-embellished bezel with MK accents. Buyers will have to settle for 4GB less internal storage. It may be a smaller option, but that doesn’t mean it’s not flashy.

Michael Kors MKGO (Gen 5E): A Darci with a silicone strap

michael kors mkgo gen 5e mkt5117

The Michael Kors MKGO Gen 5E shares its platform with the Darci. While the two watches seem similar on paper, there are some key styling and design differences.

For starters, the MKGO is available in a slew of band options. It also employs an aluminum case, which shaves some digits off its weight and price compared to its siblings. The right-hand side button is also tauter than the Darci, while a single line of jewels borders the display. It’s arguably the more practical new Michael Kors smartwatches available.

Michael Kors MKGO (Gen 4): A budget Michael Kors smartwatch

Michael Kors MKGO Wear OS 6

The Michael Kors MKGO is unlike any other smartwatch in the brand’s stable. Launched in 2019, it’s based on Fossil’s slightly older Gen 4 technology. Despite this, we’re including it in this list due to its unique design.

It drops the flash metal exterior used on the Bradshaw 2, Darci, and MKGO Gen 5E for silicone straps and a candy-colored body. This makes it most suited for users who lead an active lifestyle. It’s also by far the cheapest Michael Kors smartwatch listed here. While that price is largely due to its use of the older technology platform, it still sports heart rate tracking and NFC smarts for Google Pay.

PlayStation Plus: Everything you need to know https://ift.tt/37PT8Px

PlayStation Plus is almost a necessary subscription service for any PlayStation console if you want to play games online with your friends. There are tons of other perks that make it worth it, but for most people, the primary reason they get a PlayStation Plus subscription is the ability to play online with others.

But even if you’re not into playing online, PlayStation Plus might still be worth it. In this in-depth article, we’ll go over all the benefits to help you decide whether or not you should purchase it.

What is PlayStation Plus?

ps5 logo

Credit: Oliver Cragg / Android Authority

PS Plus is a subscription based service from PlayStation that allows gamers to play online multiplayer games, download free monthly games, and take advantage of exclusive discounts. On top of all of that, there’s also exclusive access (sometimes even early access) to some pre-orders, demos, beta trials, and game content from the PlayStation store.

Plus, you’ll also have access to 100GB of cloud game save storage and Share Play. Share Play allows you to play multiplayer and co-op games with a friend or let them enjoy single-player adventures that you own but they don’t.

Related: Sony PlayStation 5 review: A beautiful, speedy upgrade from last-gen

The free monthly games that you have access to include two PS4 games and one bonus game. For the past few months this bonus game has been a PS5 exclusive game. Naturally this PS5 exclusive will only show up if you own a PS5, the other two free PS4 games are usually great picks.

The service originally launched on June 29, 2010. The concept of PS Plus hasn’t really changed a whole lot since. For those more familiar with Microsoft’s Xbox ecosystem, it’s essentially the same as Xbox Live Gold.

How does it work?

All you have to do is purchase a PS Plus subscription and you’re good to go. You can purchase a PS Plus membership directly through the PlayStation Store or you can enter a voucher code if you purchase a subscription card from Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.

Read also: Finally got a new PS5? Here are 7 things you should do first

To activate the subscription, you just need to enter the code into the official Sony PlayStation website or on the PlayStation Store on your console. Both are quick and easy.

Once your membership is activated, you’ll have access to the free monthly games available and can download them immediately. You’ll also have access to the exclusive discounts and all other benefits right away.

How much does PlayStation Plus cost?

PlayStation Plus pricing

There are 3 different payment options for a PS Plus membership. First, you can pay $9.99 every month on a rolling subscription. Second, you can pay $24.99 every three months. With this option, it would work out to about $8.33 per month. Or third, you can pay $59.99 for an annual plan, averaging out to about $5 per month.

Related: PS5 buyer’s guide: All you need to know about Sony’s PlayStation 5

Out of all of these payment options, the annual plan is objectively the best. With the monthly plan at $9.99, you’re paying double what you would pay for an annual plan. And the monthly plan requires a credit or debit card or a linked PayPal account, so you’ll have to remember that this fee is going to come out every month unless you cancel the subscription.

Is PlayStation Plus worth it?

Yes, PlayStation Plus is totally worth it. It’s worth it to splurge up front for the annual fee instead of paying twice that for the monthly plan. For that $59.99 fee, everything you get is a steal.

Think about it this way: if you pay the annual fee for $59.99, you’ll be getting at least 24-36 free games in the calendar year. The subscription fee will easily pay for itself by way of free games alone, not to mention all of the other perks you’ll get and the ability to play online with your friends.

Plus, right now, if you purchase a PS5 and you get PS Plus, you’ll have access to the PlayStation Plus collection, which includes a ton of legendary games from the PS4 generation. Some of these games include God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, and Bloodborne.

PlayStation Plus games

The free games available with PS Plus rotate, so you will only have a limited time to download whichever games are available every month. Once the game is downloaded to your library, it’s yours to keep.

Since launch of the PS5, PlayStation has released quite a few gems for free through PS Plus. Here’s a quick roundup:

  • November 2020: Bugsnax (PS5 exclusive), Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, and Middle-earth: Shadow of war
  • December 2020: Just Cause 4, Rocket Arena, and Worms Rumble
  • January 2021: Greedfall and Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Right now, the February games you can get for free include Control: Ultimate Edition, Concrete Genie, and Destruction AllStars (PS5 exclusive). With a PS Plus subscription, you can download Destruction AllStars for free through April 5, 2021. Control: Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie are only available through March 1, 2021.

As mentioned above, if you own a PS5 and you purchase a PS Plus subscription, you’ll have access to all of the great, landmark PS4 games in the PS Plus Collection. Here’s the full list of games in the PS Plus Collection:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles Edition
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
  • Monster Hunter: World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Persona 5
  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard
  • Bloodborne
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Until Dawn
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

How are the mobile app features?

There’s no dedicated PS Plus app. Instead, there’s a PS Plus screen within the PlayStation app. In the PlayStation app, you can click on the PS Store tab at the bottom. Then, when you see the navigational headings at the top (Latest, Collections, etc.), swipe right and click on Subscriptions.

This will take you to where you can see which games are included for the month. You can add them to your library directly from your phone. If you have it enabled and your PlayStation console is turned on, you can even download the games to your console from your phone.

On this screen, you can also browse the games you can pre-order and see discounts available for PS Plus subscribers.

PlayStation Plus alternatives

ps5 ps now

There’s no direct alternative to PS Plus. With Xbox consoles, you need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play online with your friends. This is the most comparable alternative to PS Plus, but it’s on an entirely different console.

When solely looking at PlayStation subscription services, there is also PS Now. PS Now is kind of like a Netflix for video games. You can download some of the games or you can stream them. But overall, you have a rotating library of games that you can play as long as you keep paying the monthly or annual fee to access them. It’s basically the same as Xbox Game Pass, but for PlayStation consoles.

However, you don’t need PS Now to play online with your friends. PS Now just gets you access to tons of other great games for a low price, but it’s not necessary to play online with friends. It’s still a fantastic service, but not as necessary for gamers as PS Plus is.

Other FAQs

Q: Do I get to keep all of the games I downloaded if I stop using the service?
A: You will only have access to the games you downloaded for free through the PS Plus service for as long as you are a PS Plus member. If you cancel your membership, you can’t play any free games you got through your PS Plus subscription. If you decide to renew at a later date, you can re-download any games that you got for free through PS Plus and previously added to your library.

Q: Do the games leave PlayStation Plus?
A: Yes, the free games available through PS Plus are only available for a limited period of time, usually about a month long. Once that time is up, the old games offered for free are swapped out for new games.

Q: If I missed a free game from PlayStation Plus before the time period ended, can I still download it?
A: No, unfortunately you only have a limited window to add the free games offered through PS Plus to your library. If you have added the game to your library and just haven’t downloaded it yet, then yes, you can go ahead and download it. But if you never added the game to your cart and checked out to add it to your library, then there’s no way to retroactively get that free game.

Q: Does PlayStation Plus include full games for free?
A: Yep! All of the games available to PS Plus members for free every month are full games. You also have access to free early access demos for some games, but that is separate from the PS Plus free games every month.

Q: Does PlayStation Plus include PlayStation Now?
A: No, PS Plus is a separate subscription service from PS Now. With PS Plus, you get free monthly games, exclusive discounts, and the ability to play online with friends. With PS Now, you have access to a large library of games that you can either download or stream, depending on the game.

Q: Can I share my PS Plus subscription?
A: Yes, if it’s on the same console under a family account. The sub accounts under your main account on your primary console can use the benefits of your PS Plus subscription. They can also access and play any free games you’ve downloaded. The games will need to be added to the cart and downloaded using the main account. After that, anyone with a profile on the console can play them.
